Can any battle compare with the long drawn out agony endured by the displaced people of Europe - who - tramping frozen and starving across a Continent - have to watch their children dying in their obliged to leave them by the roadside. With no food or provisions other than what they could beg from sympathisers on the journey, a party of 150 women and children set out from the polish town of Lodz on October 14th - hoping to find succour in the British zone of Berlin.
